Michael Hammock

Mike started playing guitar in 1977 and was taught by his brother Don Hammock. His influences were Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, which established his technique and playing style.

In 1979, Mike obtained a position at La Jolla Music in La Jolla, California. He was employed selling and repairing guitars. In his 11 years employment, Mike was exposed to all genres of music, including classical, jazz, new age, and rock and roll. His guitar technique and style was expanded with this appreciation of all styles of music.

In 2000, Mike joined his brother’s band playing rhythm guitar and continues to play regularly with Don learning and building chemistry and his technique.

“Playing in DMR with the band members has taught me synergy and to work hard practicing the guitar.”

Mike continues to develop his technique and playing style, which includes guitar virtuosos Joe Satriani and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
